Your Club operates a Jr. Flywheelers Program for kids ages 12 -18 that are dedicated to the preservation of vintage equipment and antique engines.  The Jr. Flywheelers program helps educate our youth on the importance of preserving our past through learning about these antique engines and equipment while, most importantly, having fun.

Our Annual Events include Kids Day, Peddle Pulls and a Kids Parade during the Annual Rally, and the Harvest Hoedown fundraiser.

Through these events our youth learn how to operate farm equipment, learn how to work on tractors and engines, and learn safety precautions around moving equipment

  • Kids Day is a day where the community is invited to tour the grounds, have a lite lunch and ice cream, and see our working sawmill and blacksmith shop.
  • Our Pedal Pulls are held during the Annual Rally for the younger kids, 3-12 years age, and pull an actual sled with pedal tractors.
  • The Kid’s Parade is held on the grounds for the older kids to bring out a lawnmower, tractor, etc. They start at the track and parade the Grounds with their equipment, ending up at the Ice Cream Stand for a free ice cream cone during our Annual Rally.
  • The Harvest Hoedown is a dinner/dance fundraiser to benefit the Jr. Programs and held in October or November each year.

*Attention*

The Jr. Flywheelers are looking for a mentor who will be there at all the meetings and plan fun educational gatherings to provide some teaching and leadership.  They need a person who is good with kids.  Someone who knows about, has knowledge of farm equipment and engines, and is there to guide and assist when the kids are working on a project.  It is also important that the Jr. Flywheelers have a director that has a good sense of safety. Please give this some consideration and contact the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association if you are interested in leading the Jr. Flywheelers.
